Sigma Tau Delta is an international honor society for collegiate students of English. It presently has all ended 600 active chapters & inducts over 7000 freshly members annually. Requirements for induction into a society include existence an English major or minor, completing deuce English courses beyond freshmen composition I personally & Two, & maintaining the Trinity.Nought grade point average. Sigma Tau Delta's purpose as a society is to promote literature & writing & to advance a survey of the written word. Members gather each year at an international convention & submit works to the society's originative journal, A Rectangle, & a critical journal, A Delta. the society likewise offers a total of scholarships & awards. A mawithin office of Sigma Tau Delta is placed at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.
Organization A regents come voting members of a International Board, which likewise includes the society president, quick retiring president, vice-president/president-elect, historiographer, financial officer, & student consultant. A student consultant come appointed for 2 years per board according to nominations & stand fully vote rights. Non-voting members of a board include the executive directer, publications' director, director of communications & chapter development, & to complain.
History Last international conventions st& been held around Cincinati, Ohio (2003), Daytona Beach, Florida (2004), and Kansas City, Missouri (2005). A 2006 convention is inside Portland, Oregon.
Symbols A official colors of the society come red & black. A official flower is the rose.
